Shooting Star Amusements is celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary in 2022! We’re excited to be back bringing the infectious fun energy of the carnival to towns small and large across British Columbia.
Shooting Star is a Canadian, family owned and operated show. Completely dedicated to operating safe, quality entertainment which will satisfy every member of the family, while providing outstanding service to all guests and sponsors.
Previously owned by Brenda and Joe, Justin Wagner is now the Owner/President.Justin has been in the carnival business for 40 years. Justin’s experience and qualifications for the carnival industry include the following:
- Licensed FE electrical designation by Technical Safety BC
- 3Licensed Amusement Device Contractor by Technical Safety BC
- Level 1 AIMS INTL Amusement Ride Maintenance Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Class 1 Driver
His parents Mark and Judi Wagner owned M.F. Wagner Shows, a travelling carnival, from 1971till 2003. Growing up on the carnival Justin worked in all aspects of the family business.
In 2017 the opportunity to work as general manager for Joe and Brenda Medeiros the founders of Shooting Star Amusements came up. Justin worked as general manager for three years till the fall of 2019 when Joe and Brenda decided it was time to retire.
January 2020 Justin purchased the company and made plans to increase the number of events Shooting Star Amusements services. March of 2020 Covid-19 happened, and Justin had to wait for almost 18 months before he could open his carnival for the first time since owning it. In the Fall of 2021 Shooting Star Amusements started adding to its list of rides with the purchase of the Spider ride followed by purchasing the Mini Pirate Ship in the spring of 2022.
The addition of multiple 4 new events for Shooting Star Amusements in 2022 has positioned the company for an amazing inaugural year under the new ownership.Justin and his daughter Dylynn travel together with his mom Judi Wagner assisting in the office to make this a true
family operation.
Supported by a loyal hardworking core group of employees, Justin is excited to bring the Shooting Star family fun experience to the thousands of customers who attend Shooting Star Amusement events across British Columbia each year.
